Para facilitar la implementación de la retención de datos y las deportaciones, el Reino Unido pidió el día 7 de Septiembre en el parlamento europeo la modificación de la declaración de derechos humanos aceptada por Europa. Según Reino Unido, la declaración de los Derechos Humanos concede derechos también a aquellas personas que deberían ser deportadas por su peligrosidad. Recordar, que el término "peligrosidad" es demasiado genérico y que es una vía fácil para cometer todo tipo de abusos sobre inmigrantes y ciudadanos.
